Bio
Professor Vasiu teaches cybercrime, ITC law, criminal law, and European Business law at both Faculty of Law, Babes-Bolyai University and Faculty of Law, Dimitrie Cantemir University.
From 2010-13 she served as researcher on the European Commission’s project “CONSENT: Consumer sentiment regarding privacy on user generated content (UGC) services in the digital economy”. In 2004 she was part of the OLAF project “Rights of Defence in Fraud Investigations”, and in 2005 she worked on the “Provision of Information by Courts and Court Administrations: A Comparative Inventory of Eight European Countries and the USA” project, Dutch Council for the Judiciary.
She chaired both the 2015 International Conference “The Rule of Law in the Digital Era” and the 2014 International Criminal Law Conference “Crimes, Criminals and the New Criminal Codes: Assessing the Effectiveness of the Legal Response”.
Professor Vasiu published books and articles on Proposed Objectives, Technology, and Activities of a Cybercrime Center, Credit Card Fraud Cases, Secure Electronic Payments, Cases and considerations of infringement, and Intellectual Property Rights on User Generated Content Websites.
She is a Member of the Babe?-Bolyai University’s Scientific Council, a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Penal Law. She is an Expert Evaluator in European Commission’s Research and Innovation Programme Horizon 2020.
She holds a PhD in Juridical Science from the Faculty of Law, Babe?-Bolyai University.
