Bio
Mihai is currently undertaking a research fellowship at Tel Aviv University, part of his Ph.D program at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi. He previously worked as a trainee in the Secretariat General of the European Commission on political and security issues and in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Middle East affairs.
Mihai participated in a broad range of international events ranging from workshops on conflict resolution, summer schools on energy security and Middle East politics, simulations of high level bodies of decision making and seminars focused on challenges faced by NATO in the current security environment. In addition, he held several positions in the NGO sector both at national and international level and has an extensive experience in organizing conferences, which he developed for the past 6 years. He currently holds the position of Delegations Coordinator in the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS), the largest body for students in this field.
Mihai Chihaia holds a BA in International Relations and European Studies and a MA in Security Studies and European Integration at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania. He also studied with different scholarships at University of Beira Interior and Tel Aviv University where he gained firsthand insights on European politics and Middle East.
His academic track enabled him to present and publish numerous academic papers focused on regional security, international rivalries and Middle East security dynamics.
