Bio
Roxana serves in the cabinet of the S&D Group President, Gianni Pittella where she works on interinstitutional relations and provides political advice on migration policy, extremism and democracy. From 2011-14, she was a political advisor at the Secretariat of the Socialists and Democrats Political Group in the European Parliament where she monitored and coordinated cross-sectoral political and legislative initiatives and coordinated on conflicts of competences between parliamentary committees. From 2008-11, Roxana worked as a parliamentary advisor in the European Parliament to Romanian MEP, focusing on Western Balkans, the European Neighborhood Policy, and the Russian Federation.
From 2007-08, she was a TA of the Master of Arts in European Studies at the University of Hamburg where she worked on the study curriculum. In 2006 Roxana was an associated junior research fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations, researching the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy. Prior to this, Roxana worked as a University Assistant Professor at the Department of International Relations of the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest was an intern at the Group For Applied Economics, a Bucharest based research institute and at the Romanian Government.
She is a weekly contributor on EU affairs and foreign affairs to the Romanian magazine “Economistul”, published under the patronage of the National Bank of Romania; the web portal “Europuls”, specialised on European Affairs and “Foreign Policy Romania”.
Roxana is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Romania and of the Executive Board of the PSD Belgium Women Organisation. She holds a MA in European Studies from the Universität Hamburg, and a MA in International Business and Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest. She also holds a diploma in International Business, International Finance and Accounting from the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien – International Studies Center and a Certificate for Business Russian Language from the State Institute “A.S.Pushkin”, Moscow.
Roxana is proficient in English, German, and French.
