Bio
From 1999, Capitan (Nv.) Sorin Topor has been serving in the National Defense University “Carol I” former known as Academy of Advanced Military Studies. Starting 2013 he was designated Director of Department for Military Information Systems and Defense Intelligence. During his military career, he served as command, staff position or specialist officer at tactical and operative level units.
Sorin was trained in military information systems, electronic warfare, defense against terrorism and national security in the framework of postgraduate level courses organized by national and international centers.
He holds a MA in Information and Private Security Law from the Law Faculty of and Administrative Sciences of Ecological University of Bucharest.
As a confirmation of his didactic and scientific research, in 2014, Sorin was awarded the title of doctor habilis with a thesis on “Electronic Warfare and Defense against Terrorism – Essential Elements of the National Security”.
In 2015 he became member in the NDU “Carol I” Doctoral School for the Information and National Security research area as scientific coordinator. Also in 2015 he was invited to join the Academy of Romanian Scientists as an Associate Member.
Over the years he published extensively as author and co-author on military and security issues, in Romanian and foreign publications.
